La Peña

Old Saint Johns Hall - 25 May 2024

La Peña, which is the Argentinean way of celebrating all that is important to our people. We celebrate different national holidays such as Independence Day, Revolution Day, Flag Day, and others in this way, always preserving our culture and heritage. Our celebrations involve music, dance, and traditional food, surrounded by our loved ones. We strive to keep this tradition alive, so that no matter where we are in the world, we can feel at home while celebrating.

The event had a great impact and exceeded our expectations. The community thoroughly enjoyed and supported the event with enthusiasm. Before and after the event, attendees from both the Argentinian community and other nationalities expressed their gratitude and congratulated us on the organization, encouraging us to continue hosting such events. Many people were excited about the artists, the music, and the food.

La Peña is the purest and most traditional celebration for Argentines. It allows us to reconnect with our roots and relive the feelings of being at home for a few hours. It also allow us, as parents of children born here, to pass on our way to celebrate through our tradicional music, dance, and food.

‘No matter how determined you are to live outside your country, you will always miss your homeland. Therefore, it is important for us to have a place where we can be ourselves and express our culture to its fullest extent. Also, it is a great opportunity to show this to the local community and help them understand a little more about why we are the way we are.’ Eitel Quinonez
