Lakhey & Folk Cultural Dance Show

Bhutanese Nepali Cultural Show at the Multicultural Festival 24/3/2024 where Bhutanese, Nepali speaking community presented a unique Lakhey dance - a cultural folk dance. In these performances, various costumes and props were included and 3-4 persons from our community at the background supporting these performers with different activities.

This project is important because in these performances we are trying to introduce our unique performance - Lakhey dance and the folk dance and songs of our community. By presenting and performing these traditional and cultural performances (dances) with traditional costumes, ornament, songs and music, our young generation and old as well will be encouraged and the youth may take up and maintain these cultures of ours, and more importantly we will be able to showcase our traditional cultural performances in Nelson in public at the Multicultural Festival every year. Most importantly, we want to preserve and transfer our traditions and culture to the young generation.
