Arte Libre
“Open curiosity and personal creativity, encourage free creativity expression, lower barriers between participants so we start to create more community cohesion and connection, beyond what is experienced in the day to day and cultivate confidence, inclusion, participation. Preserve our culture in our language this is very important for us.
We have found a place where we connect with an important part of communicating and sharing openly about our skills.”

Our kids are becoming more and more disconnected from each other and from themselves for a variety of reasons which is having a very negative impact on them. There is more family disconnection, an increase in youth gangs, and little cultural and creative support and guidance for our kids in the Latin American community. We believe there is a huge opportunity right now within our community to grow cultural and creative connection in our young children. We see a need to create values based creative activities that grows conscience, trust, talent and the capacity for further development. Arte Libre, (“Free Art”) aims to be a space for children (5-14) to explore, discover, express and create experimental artworks guided by a Spanish speaking facilitator. This will be a space for children to not only be creative but also to grow human values (such as being listened to, authenticity, trust, …. ) and to make connection with themselves and with others. It will be a space to be heard and to express. Initially the idea is to meet every two weeks for a duration of 3 months.
